Mrs. Julia Ann Morrow, age 71, formerly of Winnsboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Rowlett. She was born on July 25, 1951 in Winnsboro to the late Bill Vaughn and Darlene Bell Vaughn.
Julia was a retired Prison Guard for the Texas Department of Corrections and worked most of her career at the Clyde Johnston Unit in Winnsboro. She was a longtime member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where she was active in the Awana's program. She was a volunteer for Community Bible Study in Sulphur Springs and local nursing homes. She was an officer with the American Legion Auxiliary and every Veterans Day she handed out Poppies at Brookshires and put flags on all veterans graves at Lee Cemetery on memorial day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darlene and Bill Vaughn; husband, Jimmie Morrow; siblings, J.D. Vaughn, Paul Vaughn, and Margie Miller.
Survivors include her children, Melissa Burnett and husband, Timothy, Laura Dart and husband, Donald, Renee Purcell and husband, Ruben, and Logan Morrow; grandchildren, Kevin Purcell, Lerin Purcell, Demi Shipley, Timothy Burnett, Jr., Aaron Dart, Tyler Burnett and wife, Elizabeth, Trey Burnett, Devlin Dart, Cali Purcell, and Mia Barton; six great grandchildren; siblings, Danny Vaughn, Sue Drinning, Jeannie Vaughn, Bill Vaughn, and Barbara Grady.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Beaty Funeral Home with Troy Phillips conducting. Interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro, with Lerin Purcell, T.J. Burnett, Aaron Dart, Tyler Burnett, Trey Burnett, Devlin Dart, Cali Purcell, and Izabella Purcell serving as pallbearers.
