Julie Anne Reiter, a highly respected member of the Winnsboro community, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026.
Born on July 29, 1945, in Winnsboro, Texas, Julie spent many years residing in Garland and Rockwall, Texas, before returning to her hometown in 2021.
A 1965 graduate of Winnsboro High School, Julie developed a successful career in photography with Lifetouch, capturing countless smiles and cherished memories for families across the region. Her artistic talent and attention to detail were evident in both her professional and personal life, as she was an avid artist who loved painting and expressing her creativity through various forms of art. Julie also enjoyed playing tennis and golf, as well as traveling. As a devoted animal lover, Julie had a particular fondness for Pomeranians, reflecting her kind and nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Safford and his wife, Karen, and Mike Safford; stepchildren, Jeff Reiter and Amanda Reiter; cherished grandchildren, Farrahmacie and Garrett Cody, Victoria and Harris Chakmakjian, Alexis and Dillon Vaughn, Abby Jean Bahlman, Elliot McLean, Jessica and Kelenna Reiter; and great-grandson Kayson Dean.
Julie's legacy of love, creativity, and determination will be remembered by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held in her honor at Lee Cemetery on May 29, 2026, at 12:30 PM, preceded by a visitation at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro at 11:00 AM. All who wish to celebrate Julie's life and cherish the memories she created are encouraged to attend. Julie Anne Reiter will be laid to rest in the peaceful surroundings of her hometown, surrounded by the love of her family and community.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Julie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Reiter, parents, Donald Craddock and Bobbie Craddock, and brother, Rob Craddock
