June Brown

June Brown, 87, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born in Van Zandt County, Texas, on July 9, 1928, to Flora and George Plunk, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont.

June was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Beaumont and a devoted Christian. She was a loving and very giving person.

June is survived by her children, Paula Brown Haney and her husband, Mike, of Murphy and Kevin Ray Brown, of Beaumont; stepson, Tony Brown and his wife, Sabrina, of Oxford, Mississippi; grandchildren, Shane Haney and Kaley Haney, both of Murphy, and Meredith Brown, of Oxford; and brother, Ben Plunk and his wife, Betty, of Lindale.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luke Brown; parents; two brothers; and eight sisters.

A gathering of Mrs. Brown’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont.

Additional services for Mrs. Brown are as follows: there will be a gathering from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Beaty Funeral Home, 5396 South State Highway 37, Mineola. Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 7, 2015, at Providence Cemetery, Mineola.
