Karen Sue Pendergast

Mrs. Karen Sue Pendergast passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the age of 70. She was born on March 4, 1938 to the late Dr. Frank B. Wheeler and Mary Lee Richman. Mrs. Pendergast was a 1956 graduate of Winnsboro High School and a 1960 graduate of University of Texas. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Longview, served as treasurer of the Winnsboro Heritage Society, member of the Winnsboro Preservation Club and served on the Rock Gym Preservation committee. Mrs. Pendergast was Publisher and Managing Editor for the Winnsboro News. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Burt Wheeler. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Tom Pendergast of Winnsboro; daughter, Meredith Ann Simpson and husband David of Winnsboro; sister, Becky Pickett of Winnsboro; four grandchildren, Mary Karen and William Drake Simpson of Winnsboro and John McGlamery Chavez and Aiden Gun Chavez of Naperville, IL.
