Karen Denise Taylor

A beautiful soul left our world on July 14, 2023. Karen Denise Taylor was born on October 9, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, to Marvin James Potter, Sr. and Patsy Ruth Taylor. She had been battling cancer for over 3 years, however, she never let her cancer wipe the smile away from her face. Karen was a 1983 graduate of Seagoville High School. She had previously been a resident of Dallas and Longview before settling down in Winnsboro. Karen and her husband Melvin attended church at Sharon Baptist Church. She worked for First National Bank of East Texas in their Quitman branch. Karen loved to cook, fish, and play board games with family and friends. She was also an avid reader of books. Karen is survived by her parents Marvin Potter Sr. and Patsy Taylor; husband Melvin Rolf; son Brandon Rodriguez (Emily); stepsons Brad Rolf and Chris Rolf; stepdaughters Dynphania Rolf and Cheyanne Rolf; brothers Marvin Potter, Jr. (Karen), John Taylor; stepbrothers Greg Harper (Gretchen) and Chuck Harper (Tew); sisters Lorrie Coppinger, LeChel Cox (Jamey); and numerous nieces and nephews.
