Kathleen Thomson, 85, of Hawkins, Texas died Monday, March 19, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on Thursday, March 3, 1927 in Breckenridge, Texas to the late A.T. and Josephine Shoemaker. She was a previous volunteer firefighter for the Holly Lake Ranch Volunteer Fire Department, past Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls Organization in Denison, Texas. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Hawkins where she served as past Worthy Matron.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Robert F. Thomson, Jr.; four brothers, A.T. Shoemaker Jr., Delbert Shoemaker, Richard Shoemaker, Larry Shoemaker; a sister, Mary Jo Hill.
She is survived by a son, Rodney Thomson and wife, Sachiko of Cedar Park, Texas; a daughter, Janet Jordan and husband Frankie of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, a sister, Bettye Gardner and husband Arlen Ray of Monroe, Louisiana, five grandchildren, Michael Thomson, Marlee Jordan, Benjamin Jordan, Sarah Jackson, and Christina Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Hawkins, Texas at 10:00 AM with a Memorial service following starting at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Hicks and Pastor Louis Gant officiating.
