Mrs. Katie Ruth Wagoner passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born on November 28, 1922 to the late Benjamin and Minnie Harris Blundell. Mrs. Wagoner spent her entire life in the Wood County area, the last 65 years in the Pine Mills Community. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, playing 42 with friends, and bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs Wagoner knew more about the Pine Mills Oil Field than most. She enjoyed helping her husband work in the oilfield as pumpers/switchers prior to her husband's death. She also enjoyed riding her golf cart around while tending to her garden and checking the cows and other activities around her home. Mrs. Wagoner was a Christian and an active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Pine Mills, where she was also a member of the Baptist Women's Ministry and the cemetery committee.
In her younger days Katie loved to deer hunt and squirrel hunt with her children. She was also an avid Texas Ranger fan and was famous for her coconut pies.
Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, R. E. Wagoner, two brothers, Harold Blundell and Marvin Blundell. Mrs. Wagoner is survived by her two sons, Robert Wagoner and wife Glenda of Holly Lake Ranch; James Wagoner and wife Paula of Pine Mills Community; one daughter, Judy Edge and husband Bruce of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kristie Carruthers, Derreck Wagoner, Scott Wagoner, Jason Edge and Stephen Edge; great grandchildren, Morgan Wagoner, Knox Wagoner, Beck Wagoner, Cash Wagoner, Carson Carruthers, Cole Carruthers, Cameron Carruthers, Caroline Carruthers, Jamison Edge and Lillian Edge.
