Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Clydie Mack and Evelyn Clay, sisters LaDonna Horner and Connie Gordon, and his precious firstborn son Kendall Mack Clay. Kelly leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate of forty years Debby Clay, sons Michael and wife Leslie Clay, Barry and girlfriend Kaymee Morgan; grandchildren: Khai, Eli, Echo, Evander and Allieana; nieces and nephews: Sean Gordon and wife Ruth, Kevin Gordon and wife Ciera, Crystal Hynes-Alonzo and fiancé Jose, Candie Sutton and husband Chris, Michael Horner and girlfriend Jordan Martinez, Bridgette Underwood, Joanna Frey and husband Will, Meagan Underwood, and Bobby Underwood, and many other cousins, great-nieces, nephews and friends.
Kelly grew up in Mesquite, Texas where he worked many jobs, from grocery stocker to construction, to owning a garage door business with his father. But on September 10, 1983, he married his true love Debby Clay and together they raised three beloved sons. He moved to Winnsboro in 2001 with his family. Before he became ill, Kelly loved working on and improving his 120 year old family home and property on HWY 11 in Winnsboro, where his grandparents raised their five sons, before passing it to him. Kelly's other passion was caring for and being an advocate for his close personal friend John Leslie Allen. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and cherished memories.
Kelly loved his Lord and looked forward to spending eternity in Heaven with Jesus and his precious son Kendall. He loved his pastor and church family and was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Pickton, Texas.
Kelly was a ten year post kidney transplant survivor and was fiercely passionate about the desire to give the gift of life to others through organ donation. So, instead of flowers, the family requests charitable donations for Southwest Transplant Alliance.
