Kenneth Norden

Mr. Kenneth Norden, age 79 of Quitman, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 in Quitman. He was born on September 25, 1941 in New York City to the late Nils Gustafson Norden and Anna Stenberg Norden. Ken enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. He was deeply proud of having served over 20 years patrolling the seas in the Submarine Service. He delighted in sharing his "sea stories" with anyone who would listen. His many shipmates wish Ken "Fair Winds and Following Seas" as he begins his Eternal Patrol. After his naval service Ken worked as a Service Manager for Dow Autoplex in Mineola. He was preceded in death by parents, and wife Barbara in 2016. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bennett Norden of Quitman; daughter, Bunny Kristine Norden of Florida; step daughter, Paula Spaust of Quitman; brother, Nils Ivar Norden of California; grandchildren, Philip Dubois of Florida, Josh Dubois and wife Diana of Temple, TX, Brandon McCoy and wife Mary Amanda of Quitman, TX, Brittny McCoy of Quitman and Angelina Bell of Florida; great grandchildren, Philip J. Dubois of Florida, Hayden Cook and Brooklyn McCoy both of Quitman. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5th, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX with Graveside Services following at 11:00 am at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola. Bishop Fraser W. Lawton and Chaplain David Badder conducting.
