Lee C. Sharrai

Mr. Lee C. Sharrai passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the age of 83. He was born on May 16, 1924 to the late C.W. Sharrai and Katherine Pinkston Sharrai. Mr. Sharrai graduated from High School in 1941 and then was a 1948 graduate of Texas A&M University. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Chemical Warfare Engineer, and in 1948 he went to work for the Tidewater Oil Company as a Petroleum Engineer. Mr. Sharrai married the former Mary Dobbs on July 11, 1953. He moved to Winnsboro from New Orleans in 1969 and later retired from the Tidewater, Getty and Texaco Oil Companies in 1984. Mr. Sharrai was a member of the First United Methodist in Winnsboro and was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Rose and a sister, Rosalie Bianchi. Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Mrs. Mary Sharrai of Winnsboro; son, Charles Sharrai of Tyler, and two grandchildren, Janice Rose and Marc Rose.
