Mrs. Lena Fay McCann, age 78, made her glorious transition on Sunday March 15, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on July 15, 1941 in Tyler, Texas. She accepted Christ. She lived in Tyler, Dallas and lastly Mineola Texas. After Lena Fay graduated from Emmett Scott High School in 1966 she became affiliated with the order of the Easter Star on March 10, 1966. Mrs. Lena McCann employment experience consists of five years of assembly line as a seamstress at Buddy Schoellkopf, Mineola Texas and Lerner Fashions, Grand Saline, Texas. Other employment entities entail pipe industry assembly for 2-3 years and domestic engineer work experience for twenty-five years. Some of her hobbies included, creative art/drawing, interior decorating, sewing, gardening and being active in the church. She was very key in the CYF (Christian Youth Fellowship), food and nutrition ministry, and spending quality time with family and friends during major holidays. Lastly, she actively attended East Chapel CME until health issues limited regular attendance. Mrs. Lena Fay McCann was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmor McCann Jr., her mother Helen Cook, and her father Charles McCuin. She is survived by one sister, Charlean Smith and one brother, Gilmer McCuin both of Dallas Texas. She has one daughter, Kathie (Derrell) of Riverside, CA. One son, Derick McCann, Mineola, TX. Niece , Latoya Smith, Nephew Fredrick K. Smith, both of Dallas TX, and a host of grandchildren: Derrell II (Rocio) of Moreno Valley, CA, Broderich Durley (Riverside, CA) LaDericka McCann, Tyler Texas and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX 75773. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2020 at East Chapel CME 1011 S. Pacific St. Mineola, Texas 75773 at 1:00 pm, Rev. Randy Harris conducting, interment will follow at Mineola City Cemetery in Mineola. Due to many being unable to attend the service do to state limitations on public gatherings Beaty Funeral Home will be live streaming Mrs. McCann's Funeral Services on our Facebook page beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday.
