Lena Mae Slayton, 93, of Quitman, TX passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at her home in Quitman, TX. She was born on Sunday, July 30, 1922 in Viola, AR to the late James Edward and Susie Vinson. Mrs. Slayton was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, member of the Order of Eastern Star and a lifelong member of the American Legion.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Larry Slayton; two brothers; nine sisters and one great grandson, Chance Wilson.

She is survived by daughter, Patsy Logan of Quitman, TX; brother Tommy Vinson of Wills Point, TX; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, TX. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Bro. Fred Morrow and Chaplain Randall Ator. Interment will follow at Quitman City Cemetery.
