Leon Truett Lester

Mr. Leon Truett Lester passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the age of 91. He was born on July 28, 1921, in Franklin County, Texas to the late Rev. George D. Lester and Argus Tibbs Lester. Mr. Lester served in the U.S. Airforce during WWII and was a retired Laison. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, where he served as a Deacon; member of the Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge in Winnsboro; member of the Eastern Star; member of the Northeast Texas Forestry Association, where he was a past president, and volunteered at the Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Winnsboro. Mr. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daulton Lester, K.P. Lester and sister, Lovita Swanner. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara Olson Lester of Winnsboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Brenda Lester of Scroggins, George W. and Julie Lester of Newsome and Paul and Kim Lester of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Ruth Lester Deaton of Tomball; sisters-in-law, Juanita Lester and Irene Reynolds; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
