Lequita Joy Roberts, 84, of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, with her devoted family by her side. Her beautiful and joyful life was a testament to faith, love, and service.
Born in Royse City, Texas, to the late John A. Gaskey and Maxine Lucas Gaskey, Lequita was deeply rooted in her faith and family from the very beginning. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Howard Roberts, and her stillborn son, James Michael Roberts.
Lequita’s legacy lives on through her loving daughters: Sheila Tapley and husband James, Regina Hall, and Debra Goodwin and husband Jeff. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Justin DuBois and wife Christina, Travis DuBois and wife Whitney, Taylor Goodwin, Jordan Goodwin, Cody Hall and wife Micah, Paige Hall, and Shane Hall, and a cherished great-grandmother to Brady and Olivia.
With a heart for service and a steady hand, Lequita worked for many years as a school bus driver for the Irving Independent School District. She took great pride in safely transporting children to and from school, always greeting each child with warmth and kindness.
A faithful Christian, she was a member of Family Worship Center with Jimmy Swaggert Ministries. Lequita lived her life with a quiet strength and deep devotion to her faith. She honored her calling as a Christian wife and mother, nurturing her family with grace, patience, and unwavering love.
Lequita will be remembered for her sweet spirit, strong faith, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
