Lesa C. Gregory, a beloved educator, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born on October 12, 1950, in Monahans, Texas, to her parents Henry Chitsey and Mary Jo Ross Chitsey.
Lesa's passion for education led her to pursue a Master's degree from Texas Woman's University, marking the beginning of a remarkable career in secondary education that spanned 25 years. Her dedication and commitment to shaping young minds left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students.
Outside the classroom, Lesa found joy in various hobbies and activities. She had a deep love for reading, a keen interest in history, and a green thumb that made her garden a place of beauty and tranquility. Working on puzzles brought her both relaxation and a sense of accomplishment.
On November 19, 1981, Lesa married the love of her life, Dennis Gregory. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Dennis preceded Lesa in death on February 13, 2022. Despite the challenges, their bond remains unbroken, and the memories they created together will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew them.
Lesa is survived by her loving children: Brett Gregory and his wife, Whitney, of Winnsboro; Denny Gregory and his wife, Robin, of Elon, North Carolina; and Tammy Cooper and her husband, Thomas, of Crowley, Texas. She was a devoted grandmother who brought joy and warmth to the lives of her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Lesa was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Gregory, her brother, Ron Chitsey, and grandson, Justin Campbell.
In celebrating Lesa's life, we remember a woman of strength, compassion, and resilience. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
