Leslie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Cuban Crisis. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career in customer service, retiring from Wal-Mart after 18 dedicated years. Known for his kind heart and jovial spirit, Leslie found immense joy in playing Santa Claus for children during the holiday season. His hobbies included recording and watching movies on VHS, Harry Potter being his favorite, and he was always eager to enjoy a good Chinese buffet.

Leslie was a Baptist by faith, finding comfort and community in his relationship with God. On December 3, 1966, he married the love of his life, Shelia Hansen, with whom he shared many cherished memories until her passing on June 24, 2002.

Leslie is survived by his sons, Wes Hansen and his wife, Deanna, of Scroggins, and Vernie Hansen of Mount Vernon; his sister, Linda Bradford and her husband, Raymond, of Hawaii; six grandchildren, Tia Moore and husband, Braden, Colton Keener and wife, Kaitlyn, Colby Keener and wife, Jacey, Chanee Hansen, Cheyenne Wilburn and husband, Heston, and Caitlin Busby and husband, Cobey; as well as ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelia Hansen, and his sister, Janice Hansen.

Leslie’s life was a testament to love, service, and joy. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his laughter, generosity, and unwavering dedication. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

To make him proud, in lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to one of his favorite charities, Toys for Tots. His wish was that every child enjoy Christmas.
