Leslie Willard Brumley

Leslie Willard Brumley died peacefully on Saturday evening, February 16th at the age of 87. The youngest son, of nine children, born to LuLa and Jasper Brumley on September 10, 1925. At a young age he served two years in the United States Navy. After returning home he married Bonnie Faye Redding on Dec. 21, 1949 in Pickton Texas. He was a faithful, loving, caring, devoted husband for 63 years and a wonderful proud father to daughter, Pansy Bell; an adoring Grandfather to four, Greg Anglin, Don Bell, Jr., Kelly Shutt, and Lisa Williamson; and Great grandfather to five, Caden Anglin, Sadie Shutt, Sawyer Shutt, Braelynne Williamson and Avery Williamson. Willard faithfully served as a deacon at the Winterfield Baptist Church in Pickton Texas for 55 years where his first love was God, followed by family, friends, farming, fishing & hunting. He was a successful dairyman of forty years and will always be remembered for his humility, patience, sense of humor and honor. Always spoke encouraging words and was well respected by all who had the opportunity to know him. Survivors include wife Bonnie, daughter Pansy and husband Don Bell, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two sisters, Ivy Renshaw and Stella Ramsey. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis Brumley, John Willis Brumley, J.T. Brumley and Bernice Brumley; sisters, Myrtle Sheer and Maude Mead. The service will be held Wednesday, 2pm, Feb. 20th at the Winterfield Baptist Church. Lunch for family and friends will be served at noon in the Fellowship Hall located beside the church with visitation at 1 pm prior to the service.
