Lessie Mae Powell

Lessie Mae Powell, age 82 of Winnsboro, passed from this life on Saturday, July 21, 2007. She was born to Charlie and Stella Williams Hood on March 28, 1925 in the Eastpoint Community of Wood County. She was a member of the Coldwater Baptist Church, and a retired dietary manager from the former Winnsboro Nursing Home after more than 30 years. She was married to L.B. Powell on May 25, 1940, and he preceded her on November 18, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, and a grandson, Scotty Kennedy. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Powell and wife Debbie of Tyler, James Powell and wife Bobbie of Gilmer, David Powell of Humble; three daughters, Joan Kennedy and husband Earl of Tyler, Donna Powell of Winnsboro, Jolene Weems and husband David Earl of Winnsboro; two sisters, Montene Smith of Quitman, Jimmie Ruth Prater of Mesa, AZ.; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.
