Lester Gallender

Mr. Lester Gallender, age 87, of Quitman, Texas, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Heritage Nursing Home in Quitman, Texas. He was born on May 21, 1919 in Red River County to the late Joe Gallender and the late Lillie (Jones) Gallender. Mr. Gallender was a farmer and a baptist. He served in the U.S. Army 4th Armored Division during World War II. He later married the former Miss Doris Hart. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Hart Gallender; one son, Thomas Gallender; three sisters, Verna Faulkner, Falitha Brumley and Nubin Miller; two brothers, Jesse Gallender and Leonard Gallender. He is survived by his son, Mr. Marlin Gallender of Quitman; sister, Nola Miller and husband Raymond of Pickton; three grandchildren, Marlena Gallender, Leslie Drinkwine, Jason Gallender; one great-grandchild, Tommy Drinkwine.
