Lillie Corbin

August 30, 1925 — June 30, 2019

Lillie Rose Corbin (Beach) passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Sunday, June 30 after a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Family members and friends are also invited to the 3 p.m. interment at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro, Texas and directions will be provided at the memorial service. Lillie was born in Alva, Oklahoma on August 30, 1925 and graduated from Oklahoma University. Lillie worked as a librarian in the public schools of Lewisville, Texas while completing her certification in elementary education at Texas Women’s University. She then taught second grade from 1971 to 1991 in the Lewisville Public School District. Lillie and Al retired in Winnsboro and Lillie returned to Dallas to be near her children after his passing. Lillie volunteered in countless ways at the Lewisville Bible Church, First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, and Lakeside Baptist Church (now Lake Pointe – White Rock) along with the Center of Hope in Dallas, Texas, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and the State Fair of Texas. Beyond her service as a dedicated educator and volunteer, Lillie was known for the generosity and care she extended to everyone she knew. Lillie is survived by her sister Norma Jean Love, daughter Teresa A Corbin, and son Eugene Alonzo Corbin along with four grandchildren, George A Ashmore, Jr., Amy M Ashmore, Taylor A Dannelley, Ella Lilliemae Corbin-Stockman, and five great grandchildren.
