Mrs. Linda Ruth Gilbreath, of Winnsboro, no longer suffers from the ailments of her earthly body. Linda
passed away on November 3, 2023, in her hometown. She was born on July 1, 1946, in Winnsboro, to
Marion and Jewel (Burns) London.
Linda graduated from W.W. Samuel High in Dallas in 1964. Mrs. Gilbreath rang in the holiday season by
marrying the love of her life Sammy L. Gilbreath on December 19, 1964. This union blessed them with
daughter Amy and son Daniel. She loved to travel, open a good book and read for hours, and when her
health allowed attend worship at her church. She and Sammy had attended the First Assembly of God in
Sulphur Springs and then Independence Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
Linda was a good wife and mother who made sure they came home to a loving home that served great
meals and a welcoming hug and kiss. Her family is grateful to God that she was in their lives.
Mrs. Gilbreath is preceded in death by her parents Marion and Jewel London and a sister Margie
Orsborn.
Linda is survived by her husband of almost 59 years Sammy Lee Gilbreath; daughter Amy Abbott and
husband John; son Daniel Gilbreath and wife Rebecca; brother Gene Earl London and wife Mollie; sister
Doris Smith; grandchildren Summer Gilbreath, Christian Gilbreath, Faith Gilbreath, Joey Abbott, JamiLyn Abbott, Jorden Johnson, Johnna Kindrix, and Jessica Abbott; 6 great-grandchildren.
