Linda Margaret Hilger

January 2, 1948 — February 20, 2026

Friends and family would describe Linda as a warm, vivacious person with a passion for helping others which was seen in her relationships with loved ones and new acquaintances alike. She will be incredibly missed by all who had the privilege of being touched by her light.

Born Linda Adkins on January 2nd, 1948 near Hayward California, she would eventually move to Texas in 1984 to pursue a good life for her family. She would eventually move between California and Texas two more times in order to support family members in need. Whip-smart and hard working, she was a proud graduate of Northwood University and went on to work in financial administration at numerous banks. As a Mother, she was blessed with Andrea Cole (mother of grandchildren Kiera & Lilythe Gross), Kevin Cole, and Melody Dollar (mother of grandson Asher Dollar). Linda's spirit will now be reunited with her parents Charlotte and James Adkins in her heavenly home.

Linda was known, loved, and respected by dozens of women who knew her from her faithful attendance in her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church and her participation in Community Bible Study. She loved the Lord and the study of His Word. She made an eternal impact on many women as a woman of worship and a woman of prayer. She always had her lessons done, ready to share God given insights, and was never afraid to be transparent in her faith journey. She leaves a godly legacy for her grandson Asher and all of the women in her church and Community Bible Study who loved her and will follow in her footsteps.

Linda was involved with her community in so many ways. With a deep appreciation for the Earth, she was a proud member of a local community gardening club. She was also very present in the Mom's Collective, which connected her with others who had come to raise children that aren't biological relatives. In her free time, she volunteered at Titus hospital and did ministry at the local jail, as it was always in her being to do service for others.

All who have known Linda know what an enormous loss this is, not just to all of us, but to a world that goes on without her. May her humor and kindness live on in our memories.
