Linda Lois Martin
June 19, 1942 – June 25, 2025
Linda Lois Martin, lovingly known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 19, 1942, in Camden, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Earl McMahen and Pauline Myers McMahen.
Linda spent her childhood in Camden and attended Fairview High School before graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in Texas. She later attended Draughon’s Business College and went on to serve as a dedicated secretary for the Garland Independent School District.
A woman of grace and quiet strength, Linda was a member of the Wood County Master Gardeners and the Iris Garden Club, where she shared her love of flowers and nature. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit were evident in the gardens she tended and the lives she touched. She was also a faithful member of Broad Street Church of Christ in Mineola, where she found spiritual strength and community.
Linda found great joy in gardening and reading, and her greatest pride was in her family. She is survived by her son, Alan Martin and his wife Carmen of Allen, Texas; her sister, Sherry Dale of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and her cherished grandchildren, McKenzie Nicholson, Luke Martin, and Ethan Martin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Martin, her parents Earl and Pauline McMahen, and her brother, Terry McMahen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Linda’s memory.
