Linda Shelton, age 77, of Alba, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 16th, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on October 28th, 1944, in Norton to the late Lloyd Perrill and Ivalee Ford Perrill. Linda was baptized in 1957 at First Baptist Church in Norton, KS. Linda was a Co Health Officer with Emergency Management, she was a Sunday School Teacher, 4-H Project Leader, 4-H Project Judge, volunteered with EMS, The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society and The American Red Cross.
She helped train and set up the South Yuma County EMS service while living in Kirk, CO. She attained the First Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 58.
Ms. Shelton worked at Denver General Hospital for the City/County of Denver, CO, Yuma County Hospital, Yuma, CO, Wray Community Hospital, Wray, CO, Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS, Phillips County HD-HHA, Phillipsburg, KS, Plainville Clinic, Plainville,KS, Trinity Mother Francis, Tyler, TX, Christus Trinity Mother Francis, Emory, TX and Quitman, TX. Her education consisted of graduating high school in 1962 from Norton High School in Norton, KS, then attended Fort Hays Kansas State College and graduated in 1967 with her RN, in 1992 she received her BSN from Fort Hays State University, in 1998 she graduated from Fort Hays State University with her MSN and FNP-APRN (Nurse Practitioner).
She is survived by her daughter, Melodie Cress; son, Ralph Shelton and wife Carey; grandchildren, Makayla Cress, Chayton Shelton, River Shelton, Braxton Birchfield, Harlee Birchfield, Brayden Carr; sisters Lynnette Landers and husband Mike, and Rebecca Delimont; nephews Brian Delimont and family and Michael Delimont and family; nieces Stephanie Johnson and family and Amber Greer and son. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Cress, husband Gary Allen, and brother-in-law Lyman Delimont.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX 75773 at 10:00 am officiated by Pastor Greg Hansen .
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations can be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, Texas 75701.
