Lois Rovena Tipps

January 17, 1927 — March 3, 2009

Mrs. Lois Rovena Tipps went home to be with our savior on March 3, 2009 at the age of 82. Lois was one of four children. She was born on January 17, 1927 to Albert Bates a saltminer in Grand Saline and Pearl Land Bates a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro, worked for S.B.C. as a telephone operator, and retired from the Winnsboro News. Lois is survived by two remaining sisters, Verona Bates-Morgan of Dallas and June Humphreys of Camarillo, CA. She is also survived by her children, Hank Tipps and wife Debbie of Lindale and Paul Tipps and wife Debbie of Longview; five grandchildren, Marci Evans and husband Scott, Brandon Tipps and wife Julie, Ashley Tipps, Corey Tipps, Brett Tipps and one great grandchild, Jentri Evans. Also surviving are special nephew and nieces, John Morgan, Jr. of Richardson, Marline Randall of LasVegas, Maurine Newton of California and Norine Edwards of South Africa. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Loyyd Tipps and a sister, Lola Hietche.

The family would like to thank all the very special nurses and aids at Good Shepherd Hospital and Summer Meadows Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
