Lonie Mae Johnson

Lonie Mae Johnson, age 94 of Winnsboro, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Winnsboro. Lonie was born on September 18, 1919 in Cleveland, TX., the eighth child of Johnnie Irwin Roberds and Ena Vassie Miller Roberds. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years and the love of her life, Jesse Robert "Jack" Johnson, Jr. She is survived by a son, Robert Johnson and his wife Linda; a daughter, Evelyn Johnson Berry and her husband Vaughn; a sister, Mrs. Louise Carter of Riverside, Ca.; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff of Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Winnsboro, for making the last seven years of Mother's life with Alzheimer's disease comfortable. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro.
