Loretta Gail Barnett

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Loretta Gail Barnett, age 67, of Lindale, Texas, on July 19, 2024.

Loretta was born on April 26, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to the late Troy Smith and Mary Louise Belcher. She moved to Mineola, Texas, where she spent her formative years and built the foundation of a life dedicated to caring for others.

A devoted caregiver, Loretta was known for her dedication and love for helping others. Her career and personal life were marked by a profound commitment to those in need, reflecting her deep compassion and nurturing spirit.

Loretta was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Sarah and Andrea, and a very proud grandmother to her three grandsons, Jackson, Noah, and Nathan. She was known for her giving heart, unwavering faith, and incredible love for her family.

She is survived by her sister Sheila Brotherton of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters Sarah Barnett of Longview and Andrea Wheeler and husband Jack of Lindale; grandsons Jackson Wheeler, Noah Wheeler, and Nathan Wheeler; niece and nephews Leah Leach, Joshua Dillard, and Justin Dillard; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Loretta’s warmth, compassion, and love will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
