Lorraine Jecke Simms

Lorraine Jecke Simms, age 97 of Lake Cypress Springs, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 in Sulphur Springs. Lorraine was born in Andale, Kansas on September 16, 1916 to the late Charles Peter and Irene Henderson Jecke. She was a retired civil servant, having worked for over 40 years for the Air Force in Montgomery, Alabama and the Navy in Pensacola, Florida. She was a member the First Presbyterian Church of Winnsboro, belonged to the Edelweiss Club at church, and the Camelot Book Club in her community at Lake Cypress Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarke Simms; and two sisters, Cleo Baker and Thelma Knapp. She is survived by her son, Mike Simms and wife Anne of Lake Cypress Springs; two grandchildren, Lori Simms, Susanne Simms Turnbo and husband Trevor; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley Turnbo, and Benjamin Turnbo.
