Louis Daniel “Butch” Driver aged 78 of Grand Saline, Texas passed away on Friday, January 28th, 2022, from Covid. He was born October 25th, 1943, in Overton, Texas to Dennis and Evelyn Driver, as well as his stepmother Gladys Driver. He grew up in Lancaster, TX and attended Wilmer Hutchins High School in Dallas, TX. He enlisted in the United States Army on his 17th birthday and served for 6 years both active and reserve duty where he earned the Expert Rifleman badge and the Overseas Medal. Louis worked for St. Regis Paper Company until 1988 when he joined DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) as a bus driver, train operator and retired in 2013 as a Transit Supervisor. He enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, dominoes and card games as well as spending time with his immediate and extended family. Louis was a sentimental man, who enjoyed joshing, and attempting to cheat at family games. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He believed a house is not a home without God in it and endured every day to live by this belief. He was preceded in death by all of his parents, his brothers Floyd Driver, Ben Driver, and sister Betty England. He is survived by his former spouse Earlene Green, his spouse Patsy Hendrix Driver, his sister Beverly Oglesby of Bedford, TX, his daughter Leah Frye of Lewisville, TX, son Kenneth Driver and wife Christina of Lewisville, TX, daughter Rebecca Cade and partner Chris Davis of San Antonio, TX, son Brandon Cade and wife Hilary of Aubrey, TX, grandchildren Amanda Fox and husband Joshua of Lewisville, TX and Kaitlynn Driver of Mabank, TX, and great grandchildren Lloyd Matthew Fox of Lewisville, TX, Jaxon White of Athens, TX, and Karlee Reindollar of Mabank, TX.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 4, 2022 from 6 - 8 PM at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, TX.
Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 AM at Silverlake Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Danny LaPrade.
Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery in Arp, TX at 3:30 PM.
