Mr. Loyd Benjamin Black passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the age of 95. He was born on May 21, 1915 to Dallas Thomas and Annie Lee Jacobs Black. He was a resident of Franklin County for most of his life. He worked as a farmer and 30 years for Gulf Oil, which he retired from in 1974. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Black is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Duard Lee and Denzil Ray Black; sisters, Lois Munn, Trudy Bickerstaff and Laudie Seay; grandson, Bart Roberts, and a son-in-law, Roger Barkley. Survivors include his loving wife of 76 years, Mrs. Noval "Dot" Gossett Black of Winnsboro; daughters, Joy Barkley of Burleson, Tx and Elceone Roberts and Husband John of Santa Fe, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Martha Black of Scroggins; ten grandchildren, Scott Barkley and wife Pam, Sherrie Owens and husband Jayson, Valarie Barkley, Kevin Roberts and wife Allison, Brenda Isbell, Misty Rogers and husband Mark, Brad Ross and Wife Dena, Greg Rose and wife Angela, Rusty Rose and wife Rachael, Kenny Rose and wife Adrianna; 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister, Mary English of Duncan, OK; brother, Cloy Black and wife Elaine of Baton Rouge, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
