Lucretia Anderson

June 10, 1941 — November 23, 2023

Mrs. Lucretia “Lucy” Faye Anderson, age 82 of Mineola, passed away on Thursday,

November 23, 2023, in Tyler. She was born on June 10, 1941, in Eagle Lake, Texas to the

late Clinton Albert and Augustine Matula Bryant.

Lucy was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ. A dedicated teacher, she

influenced thousands of children across the state during her 34 years of service to the

field. She was an accomplished musician, playing the trumpet in several community

bands, including the Brazosport Community Band and the Lake Country Symphonic

Band. Lucy loved to travel, fish, read, play card games with her friends and family, and

spend time in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived by

the strong family values she passed down to her family. Above all, she embodied a

Christian life well-deserving of being called home to hear, “Well done, good and faithful

servant.”

She was preceded in death by her late husband Mr. Carl Thomas Anderson, sister Linda

White, brother Roger Bryant, and brother Gary Bryant.

Lucy is survived by her loving daughter, Carla Lynn Anderson Gaynor and her husband

Kenneth of Mineola; son Charles Bryant Anderson and his wife Nina of Katy; five

grandchildren, Whitney Figueroa, Jonathan Gaynor and his wife Kari, Bruce Gaynor,

Geoffrey; nine great-grandchildren, Brandon Figueroa, Sara Figueroa, Abigail Figueroa,

Clayton Gaynor, Jackson Anderson, Ainsley Anderson, Elliot Calvert, Oliver Clavert, and

Blakely Calvert.
