Lyle Jean Foster

January 9, 1941 — February 3, 2021

Lyle Jean Foster was called home to be with her Lord from Quitman, Texas, on February 3, 2021. She is survived by those who loved her dearly, her husband of 60 years, Gary Foster, son Gary Wayne Foster, daughter Jeana Foster, grandchildren Sarah and Daniel Foster, brother Richard Speer and sister in-law Margaret Foster. Lyle Jean was born January 9, 1941, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Simeon Lyle Speer and Vera Jean Lewis Speer. The Fosters and Speers moved to Miami, Florida where Sim Speer and Wayne Foster were pilots for National Airlines and lived in the same neighborhood. Lyle Jean and Gary were playmates as kids. Lyle Jean graduated from Southwest High School in 1959 and attended Florida State University the same year. Lyle Jean and Gary were married December 28, 1960, in South Miami, Florida. Lyle Jean worked full-time at Keyes Mortgage Co., supporting the family while Gary completed a BS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Miami. During that time their son was born. Also during this time, the Lord brought Rosemary Hagler into Lyle Jean's life. They became life-long dearest friends. After graduation the family moved to Southern California for employment and the next phase of life together. Jeana was born there. There Lyle Jean could do what she loved most, being a loving wife and mother. After a few years the family was transferred to Denver, Colorado, where they stayed 37 years. During this period the Lord blessed the family with two grandchildren. The family attended Central Baptist Church in Aurora, Colorado, where each in the family accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Lyle Jean wrote to Rosemary in Florida to share this great news and to witness to her. Rosemary has trusted in the Lord at the same time and wrote Lyle Jean with the same intent. Their letters crossed in the mail. For a number of years after the kids were gone from home Lyle Jean and her dear friend Rose Riley co owned and operated a full-service bridal shop in Aurora. After retirement Lyle Jean and Gary moved to Mineola, Texas, to spend time with Gary's brother Jack and his wife Margaret. They found a loving church home at Lake Country Bible Church and then at Harvest Acres Baptist Church. In Mineola Lyle Jean was able to devote much more time to the gifts God gave her, praying for others and lifting them up through sending many cards and encouraging notes. Lyle Jean was truly a gift from God. A Memorial Service is scheduled for June 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Harvest Acres Baptist Church, Mineola, TX.
