Mrs. Mable Lois Dykes Mayo, age 91 of Winnsboro, formerly of Marshall, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Winnsboro. Mable was born in Winnsboro on April 30, 1923 to the late Malcolm and Mary Nellie Winchester Dykes. She was a retired LVN, having worked at the former Kahn Memorial Hospital and Oak Haven Recovery Center. She was a former member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Marshall, and upon returning to Winnsboro, joined the Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was living one day at a time and an active member of ALANON for the last 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie Mayo; daughters, Theada, Glenda and Brenda Mayo; brothers, James Weldon, Curtis, and Gerald Dykes; sisters, Lula Mae Albright, Lorena Leona Green, Carrie Rebecca King, and Lillie Bell McMullen. She is survived by her son, Dwayne Mayo and wife Martha of Winnsboro; brother, Olan Dykes and wife Juanita of Winnsboro; granddaughter, Susannah Mayo of Houston.
