Margie Mae Tompkins of Mineola, Texas passed away on October 2, 2021 in Mineola. Texas. She was born December

31, 1929 in Elysian Fields, Texas to the late Maggie Louis Hill and Theron D’Arcy Hill. Margie graduated in

1950 from Texas State College for Women, or what is now called Texas Women’s University with a

degree in Elementary Education. In June of 1950, Margie married Jack and had four children. Margie

was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday School class.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her sister, Betty Vaughan, and her parents.

She is survived by two sons; Mike Tompkins and wife Lisa of San Antonio, Texas, and Kyle Tompkins of

Red Lodge Montana; two daughters, Charlotte Tompkins of Mineola and Karon Hagood and husband

Rocky of Colleyville, Texas, five grandchildren, Austen Hagood, Kallie Hagood, Lauren Johnson and her

husband Harvey Johnson, Taylor Tompkins, and Jason Moeller; two great grandchildren. Charlie Smith

of Amarillo, Texas and Donnie Romer of Dallas, Texas grew up in the Tompkins’ home and are

considered family.
