Marie Gearner

Mrs. Marie R. Gearner passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the age of 94. She was born on March 19, 1913 to the late Archie L. Shamburger and Mattie Thompson Shamburger. Mrs. Gearner attended Cartwright Schools before graduating from Winnsboro High School in 1932. She married Mr. Elmer L. Gearner on January 3, 1934 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1994. She was a homemaker, seamstress, a former member of the Urban Home Demonstration Club, and Mrs. Gearner was a member of Tinney Chapel United Methodist Church for over sixty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and four sisters. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Carol Ann Gearner of Desoto and Monty and Judy Gearner of Italy; ddaughter, Gailya Gearner of Winnsboro; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
