Mark Elkins

Mr. Mark Steven Elkins, age 62 of Hawkins, passed away on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 in Tyler. He was born on July 16th, 1956 in Denton, Texas to the late James Clay Elkins and Yolanda Hernandez Elkins. Mark owned his own trucking Company for many years until he retired. He was a longtime member of First Assembly of God in Hawkins. He served the Hawkins Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years; was a Wood County Sheriff's Deputy for many years and an avid hunter and musician. He is survived by his mother, Yolanda Elkins of Hawkins; wife, Marleen Elkins of Hawkins; son James Elkins and his wife Wendy of Ft. Worth; daughter, Sarah Elkins of Hawkins; brother, Bucky Elkins and his wife Diane of Hawkins; sisters, Lizabeth Jean Elkins of Hawkins and Sharon Alexandre and her husband Carlos of Visalia, California; one grandchild, Ferris Flanders and nephews, Bucky Elkins, Jr., Eric Elkins and great nephew, Brenden Elkins Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX 75773. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at First Assembly of God 102 Harris, St. Hawkins, TX 75765 at 2:00 pm, Rev. Don Majors conducting, interment will follow at Hawkins Cemetery in Hawkins.
