Marlene Bass Mooney, born on June 28, 1935, in Newsome, Texas, to the late Harry and Pinkie Lou Bass, passed away surrounded by love and family. A devoted Christian, Marlene was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Quitman, Texas.
Marlene enjoyed a full and vibrant life, traveling extensively with her late husband, Johnny Mooney, and cherishing the time spent as a member of the Lioness Club. She looked forward to her twice-weekly card games with friends, creating memories filled with laughter and camaraderie. Professionally, Marlene excelled as an administrative assistant, bringing dedication and skill to her career.
She is survived by her loving family, including her son, Stephen Mooney; daughters, Terry Knotts (Dennis) and Amy Aguirre; and her cherished grandchildren, Sara Knotts (Stacey Norris), Amanda Carr (David), Adam Aguirre, Kyle Knotts (Tish), Dustin Mooney, and Ashley Mooney. Marlene also leaves behind great-grandchildren Kenleigh Aguirre, Zach Carr (Kara), Colten Carr, Alexis Carr, Aiden Carr, Tyson Aguirre, Noel Ingledue, and Chloe Ingledue, who were a source of great pride and joy.
Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Mooney; her parents, Harry and Pinkie Lou Bass; and her brother, Wallace Bass.
Pallbearers honoring Marlene's life will include Kyle Knotts, Sara Knotts, Zachary Carr, Colten Carr, Aiden Carr, and Amanda Carr. Honorary pallbearers are Dustin Mooney, Adam Aguirre, David Carr, Tyson Aguirre, and Ashley Mooney.
Marlene's warm heart, quick smile, and loving nature will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of faith, family, and friendship will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
