Marvin Gordon Hackler

February 12, 1911 — March 6, 2007

Mr. Marvin Gordon Hackler, age 96, of Golden, Texas, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Hackler was a retired engineer for the United Gas Pipeline Company and a farmer. He was born February 12, 1911 in Campbell, Texas to the late Mevel Monroe Hackler and the late Mary Buford Webb Hackler. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Annie Elizabeth Hackler in 1990 and by 7 brothers and sisters and one daughter-in-law, Billie Jo Hackler.

He was a member of the Golden United Methodist Church where he served on the church board and he was a former board member of the Golden School District. He recieved a resolution from the Texas House of Representatives for Lifetime Achivement.

He is survived by his daughter,

Ann Tayler of Tyler, Texas and her husband, Alford; four sons,

Charles Hackler of Fouke, Ark.

Dee Hackler of Sterlington, La. and his wife Betty, Jerry Hackler of Lafayette, La. and his wife Darlene, Truman Hackler of Golden, Texas and his wife Mattie; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
