Mary Alice Chaney

December 8, 1920 — October 13, 2014

Mary Alice Chaney passed from this life on Monday, October 13, 2014 and entered the heavenly vale into the arms of her Savior. Mary, 93 of Frisco, TX. Mary was born on Wednesday, December 8, 1920 in Forreston, TX to the late Cader Dale Adkins and Nettie Elizabeth Appling.

Mary was a active member of First Baptist Church of Mineola from 1950 until 1971 at which point she moved her membership to Lamer Baptist Church in Arlington, TX. For fifty years she played Bridge tournaments with various clubs and was a regional life master.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Earnest Ray (Swamp) Chaney; six brothers, V.C. Adkins, Thurman Adkins, Herman Adkins, Glen Adkins, William Grey Adkins and John Bunyan Adkins; sister, Elizabeth Brown.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay English and husband John of Mineola, TX, Johnna Sue Smith and husband Scott of Plano, TX; brothers, Cader Dale Adkins Jr. and Charles Adkins both of Waxahachie, TX; sister, Carolyn Arnold of Denton, TX; four grandchildren, John Chaney English and wife April of Murphy, TX, Suzanne Smith of Billings, MT, Heather Harrison and husband Mike of Plano, TX and Stephen Smith of Plano, TX; ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, TX on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 1-2 PM. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Rick Son and Rev. Cindy Shirley.

Mother, we thank you from our hearts for a lifetime of love and devotion, sweet memories and raising us in a Christian home, your loving, devoted daughters, Kastie and Sue.

The grandchildren, John Chaney, Suzanne Smith, Heather Harrison, and Stephen Smith would like to express their gratitude and blessings in life by their Nana and Dada.
