Mary Lucretia Jackson Morgan, an extraordinary individual who filled the lives of many with joy and love, will be remembered and celebrated after her passing on June 20, 2026, at the age of 86. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, on September 11, 1939, Mary lived a vibrant life dedicated to her family and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Billy Don Morgan; her dear grandson, Chase Anthony Morgan; and her cherished dog, Gilly. She is survived by her daughters, Chelsea Morgan Humphreys and Terry Lynn Morgan Underwood; her son-in-law, David Humphreys; her grandchildren, Eli Humphreys and Emelyn Humphreys; and a host of family and friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
In her vibrant years, Mary was known for her fierce loyalty, humor, and unwavering spirit. A consummate storyteller, she took great joy in sharing tales that wove together the generations of her family, always reminding them of their roots. She was a creative soul, with a passion for crocheting, sewing, and embarking on family adventures. Her hands crafted beautiful things, and her heart was a refuge for those she loved.
Mary's spirit will shine brightly as we gather to honor her legacy. Funeral services celebrating her remarkable life will be held at a location yet to be determined, where family and friends will come together to share their memories and stories. In her honor, we invite all who knew and loved her to join in a ceremony that reflects the joy she brought into our lives.
Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest in a beautiful burial ceremony in Winnsboro, Texas, surrounded by the love she cultivated throughout her life.
Together, we will celebrate Mary-her passion for adventure, her zest for life, and most importantly, the deep love she had for her family. As we reflect on the wonderful tapestry of her life, we find comfort in knowing that Mary's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
