Mary Dell Sauer

Mary Walker Sauer, age 83, passed on to her heavenly home on October 27, 2021. She was born in Dallas to the late Mary Ruth Powell and Andy Davis Walker on September 22, 1938. She graduated from Irving High School in 1955 and married the love of her life in December 1955.

Mary and Jack raised their five children in Irving. They lived there for 30 years. They worked in the churches they were members of, Southside Baptist, and Memorial Baptist Church. Mary played the organ for each church. Jack served as deacon.

Mary retired from the office of Roadway Express after 17 years. They moved to Mineola, Texas when they both retired. They loved Mineola and their place here. They were members of First Baptist Church in Mineola.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jack, of 61 years; sisters; Margaret Massey, Dorothy McWilliams; brother; Andrew Walker; granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Sauer; niece, Joyce McWilliams.

She is survived by her children, daughters; Leigh Foster and husband Randy of Mineola, Lisa Jones and husband Greg of Charleston, S.C. sons; Neal Sauer and wife Marcy of Mineola, David Sauer and wife Jenny of Mineola, and Alan Sauer and wife Bonnie of Kaufman.

Mary had 15 grandchildren that she adored. And 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be at First Baptist Church of Mineola on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 am with speakers, Dale Walker and Mark Massey. Hebrews 12:1-2

"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith."

Dr. Nelson Bell wrote, many years ago- "Only those who are prepared to die are really prepared to live. The uncertainty is not the dying, it's the preparation.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations can be made to Hospice of East Texas, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or First Baptist Church of Mineola.
