Mary Tarrant

Mrs. Mary Manon (Shields) Tarrant, age 81, of Silsbee, Texas, and formerly of Hawkins, Texas died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Tarrant was a presbyterian and retired bookkeeper for Exxon.

She was born October 8, 1926 in Holliday, Texas to the late Arlie "Bunn" Shields and the late Emma (Ray) Shields. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Truett Tarrant on Oct. 1, 2005 and by one sister, Ida Little.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan McLaughlin of Silsbee, Texas and her husband Larry and Janis T. Smith of Big Sandy; one sister, Bonnie Morris of Denton; one brother, Irvin Shields of Abilene and his wife Viola; four grandchildren, Jason McLaughlin of Flower Mound and his wife Amanda, Laura McLaughlin of Lumberton, Cooper G. Smith of Big Sandy, and Heather Davenport of Hallsville; five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, and Emma McLaughlin, Lane Mason Davenport.
