Max Archerd

Max Archerd, Jr., age 89, died Monday, August 29, 2011 in Lindale, Texas. He was born on Monday, April 24, 1922 in Healdton, Oklahoma to the late Max and Grace Maude Archerd. He was a shift foreman for Exxon and served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He attended the Church of Christ in Big Sandy, Texas and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Lois Bowles.

He is survived by his wife, Christene Archerd of Hawkins; two daughters, Betty Green and husband Jerry of Tyler, Texas, and Debbie Moon and husband Dwane of Wynona, Texas; five grandchildren, Jason Green, Elizabeth Green, Brent Green, Landon Green and Misty Green; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Green, Jenny Green, Brooke Green, Hunter Green, Haylie Green, Montana Morgan, Savannah Morgan and Leland T. Norman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Beaty Funeral Home in Hawkins, Texas from 6 - 8 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Beaty Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Hawkins, Texas at 2:00 PM with Minister Ron Bell officiating.
