Obituary

Melba Joyce Blair, 79, of Scroggins, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 30, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to Lois and Ray Dean.

Melba married the love of her life, Alan Blair, on December 22, 1969, and together they were blessed with fifty-six wonderful years of marriage. She worked for many years as the Director of Medical Records at Presbyterian Hospital in Winnsboro, where she was known for her dedication and hard work.

Above all, Melba was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family could always count on her for a warm home-cooked meal, loving support, and wise advice. She faithfully served as a member of the Winnsboro Church of Christ and leaned heavily on her faith throughout her life. Melba deeply valued worship and prayer, and she prayed faithfully for her family and all those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Ray Dean; her in-laws, Floyd and Joyce Blair; her brothers-in-law, Don Swann and Clifton Hall; and her sisters-in-law, Margaret White and Ann Henderson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Alan Blair; her sons, Patrick Blair and wife Kristi, and David Blair and wife Summer; her sister, Patsy Swann; her brother, Alvin Dean and wife Kathy; her brothers-in-law, Mike Blair and David Henderson; her grandchildren, Cody, Colton, Chase, Bethany, Natalie, Presley, and Brooks; her precious great-granddaughter, Thea Jo; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Melba's love, faith, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
