Mrs. Melba G. Sparks, age 94 of Pickton, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Tyler. She was born on October 26, 1917 in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late Floyd and Lela Garrett. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Pickton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Valton H. Sparks; three sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by two sons, Jack Elza and wife Sue of Hindhead, United Kingdom, Pat Elza and wife Elaine of Tyler; one grandchild, Tina Willyerd and husband Kevin of Kingswood; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services are scheduled for 11am on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Old Pickton Cemetery in Pickton; visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, with a memorial service following at 2pm, both at Beaty Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
