Melvin C Thacker

Mr. Melvin Cranston Thacker passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the age of 95. He was born on November 6, 1914 to the late Calvin Alford Thacker and Mattie Elizabeth Herron Thacker. Mr. Thacker married the former Grace Wilson and she preceded him in death on February 22, 2005. He worked for the Getty Oil Company for thirty-five years. Mr. Thacker was a member of the Pineview Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandson, Gary Thacker, Jr.; three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his sons; George Cranston Thacker of Diana and Gary Mack Thacker of Winnsboro; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
