Michael Richard Powell

Michael Richard Powell - November 22, 1948 - February 24, 2025

Mike was born in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1948.

He served in the US Navy on the USS Boston with the rank of GMM2. He was

awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal for his service during the Vietnam

War. After serving his country, Mike married his wife, Debbie. They had two daughters,

Cortni and Mikki. He had a long career at JO Williams where his friends became

family. Mike enjoyed the simple things in life of just being at home, watching football,

spending the day at the casino, going to eat breakfast, and joking around with his

grandkids.

Mike passed away next to his wife and daughters on February 24, 2025.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Wena B. and Richard E. Powell. He is

survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah Powell; his daughters, Cortni Broom and her

husband Stephen Broom, and Mikki Burciaga; his grandkids, Richard Dylan Burciaga,

Emily Broom, Avery Broom and Ayden Burciaga; his siblings, Sondra Clifton, Jason

Powell, and Amy Posey; and last, but not least, his loyal, four legged sidekick, Maggie.
