Mildred Lois Evans

September 22, 1945 — April 14, 2024

Lois Evans, born on September 22, 1945, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Aubrey Self and Edith Fontaine McCoy, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024. She was a cherished individual whose love for life and family left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Lois married Wayne Evans in a union marked by devotion and shared joy. Together they navigated the ups and downs of life, reinforced by their love for each other and their shared interests.

Lois had a deep passion for genealogy, which often took her on explorations through old barns and windmills. Her love for uncovering the past was only rivaled by her enthusiasm for garage sales, where she found not only treasures but also tales of the objects that came into her hands.

Lois is survived by her son, Todd Evans of Quitman, Texas; her sister, Donice Pair and husband Dale of Durant, Oklahoma; and her brother-in-law, Leon Lee of Powell, Oklahoma. Her familial ties were a significant part of her life, and she cherished the relationships with each family member deeply.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Evans and brother, Tony Self, and her sisters, Willie Hargis and Frankie Lee. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Lois's life was a testament to the joy of exploring, the value of history, and the enduring strength of family bonds. As we remember Mildred, we celebrate her life and the many contributions she made to our lives. Her legacy will continue in the stories shared by friends and the loving memories cherished by her family.
