Mildred Kathleen Johnson (Miles) Peace was born on Monday, November 4, 1918 and went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:53PM at the wonderful age of 94 years, 3 months and 21 days.
Mildred was born to Luther Edward and Mary Leona Riddle Johnson in Bonham, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Olen Peace; a son Wendell Dykes Miles; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Peace; a grandson Steven Chris Michie and Michael Nichols; a grand daughter, Dawn Heffner; a great-granddaughter, Emily Owens; two sisters, Myrtle Reynolds and Juanita Brown; and a brother Albert Johnson.
She leaves behind her brothers, Kenneth and Billy Jack Johnson; sons, Glenn Edward Peace and Gerald Peace; daughters, Marjorie Kathleen (Miles) Scholl, Martha Jane (Miles) Heffner, Linda Sue (Miles) Huddleston, Helen (Peace) Haag; daughter in law, Mary Peace; sons in law, Donald Scholl, David Heffner, Robert Huddleston and Gary Haag; sixteen grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; and twenty-six great, great-grandchildren.
During her working years, she was employed by Varo Manufacturing in Garland, Texas where she worked on secret government projects including the prototype for night vision equipment, early mammography and electronic equipment used in aviation and space exploration.
Mildred was a very intelligent woman with a terrific sense of humor. As long as it was possible, there was never a day that she was not “up to date” on current local and world events.
Mrs. Peace leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, kind words and kind deeds.
Services will be Thursday, February 27, 2013 at Beaty Funeral Home on Hwy. 37 in Mineola.
Family Visitation and Viewing: from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Interment: Cedars Memorial Gardens south of Mineola on Hwy. 69 at 1:00 PM.
Her sons and daughters will officiate the services. She brought us into this world and taught us to be loving, honest, kind, caring people and live with dignity and we will see her out with the grace and dignity that she so completely deserves.
