Mildred Rowden

Mildred Rowden, age 94, of Hawins, Texas, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.

She was born on Wednesday, April 18, 1917 in Canadian, Texas. She graduated from Canadian High School in 1935. She married R. C. Rowden on Sunday, November 8, 1936. They lived in the Panhandle of Texas before moving to Hawkins in 1986.

Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband R. C. Rowden; her parents, Finus LaRoy and Florence Finch; three brothers, Robert, Roy and Nelms Finch; and two sisters, Eva Stirtz and Clarice Decker.

Survivors include her sister, Lavonne Ward of Atascadero, California; daughter and son-in-law, Cotton and Bonnie Jordan of Hawkins; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carolyn Rowden of Longview, Texas; son L.D. Rowden and Katy Rial of Plano, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ms. Bowden are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Hawkins Cemetery under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of East Texas of the charity of your choice.
